Students for Life of America (SFLA) is a pro-life advocacy organisation founded in 1977, originally as a student-run group called C.Am.P.U.S. Its stated mission is to recruit, train and mobilise what it calls the Pro-Life Generation in pursuit of abolishing abortion. The organisation works across middle schools, high schools, colleges, universities and medical and law schools, and operates in all 50 U.S. states.
SFLA runs its programmes through five pillars: Effective Education, which educates and trains pro-life students; Industry Impact, which places leaders into pro-life and culture-impacting industries; Public Policy, covering policy advocacy; Rapid Response, which supplies a fast-reaction capability for the movement; and Supportive Services, providing support for those most affected by abortion. Two affiliated entities sit alongside this work: Students for Life Action, the organisation's political arm, and Standing With You, an initiative creating a culture of support for those most affected by abortion.
By its own figures, SFLA supports more than 1,635 campus-based pro-life groups and has trained more than 258,000 pro-life students. The organisation describes itself as mission-driven and leadership-focused, with an emphasis on developing people who go on to lead in the pro-life movement and in other industries.
