Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, Inc.

Ronald McDonald House of Dallas provides free temporary housing, meals and support services for families of seriously ill or injured children near Dallas medical facilities.

Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, Inc. is a nonprofit that provides temporary housing and support services to the families of seriously ill or injured children. Founded in 1981, it operates a "home-away-from-home" facility in the Dallas medical district, close to three major hospitals, and serves families from across the United States and around the world. Since its founding, it has housed more than 40,000 families.

The organisation's principal facility, known as The House, covers approximately 78,000 square feet and comprises 77 private bedrooms, six extended-stay suites and six transplant apartments. Alongside accommodation, it runs Meals That Heal, a programme that provides three meals a day, 365 days a year to guest families, as well as family activities, laundry facilities and other essential services. All services are provided completely free of charge.

The work sits at the intersection of nonprofit charitable housing, paediatric healthcare support and family services. Staff and volunteers operate in what the organisation describes as a warm, supportive environment built around the comfort of the families it serves. Further information on the organisation and its programmes is available at https://rmhdallas.org/.
