Resetting the Table

A US nonprofit founded in 2014 that trains leaders in political mediation and conflict resolution, reaching over 100,000 participants across 49 states.

Resetting the Table (RTT) is a political mediation organisation founded in 2014 as an independent, mission-driven nonprofit. It equips and activates leaders across American life to address toxic political divides and build a shared future. The organisation's roots date to 2013, and its work draws on decades of conflict expertise.

Central to its work is a transformative mediation framework and associated training programmes. The methodology combines mediation, peacebuilding, deliberative democracy, trauma therapy and social research, and is designed to help opposing parties investigate charged political differences while emerging with stronger relationships and greater problem-solving capacity. RTT focuses on equipping so-called norm-shapers - leaders in strategic audiences - with these tools.

More than 100,000 direct participants have been trained across 49 states, with an estimated 2m additional Americans reached through ripple effects. The organisation works across the sectors of faith and religion, higher education, the entertainment industry, and civic and political engagement in the United States.
