OhioGuidestone
Ohio's largest community behavioral health agency, providing prevention, mental health and substance use treatment, foster care and workforce development across 40 Ohio locations.
OhioGuidestone is Ohio's largest community behavioral health agency, delivering prevention services and treatment for mental health and substance use disorders across the state. The organisation serves approximately 26,000 Ohioans a year through 40 locations, with operations in Ohio's Northeast, Northwest and Central regions. It was founded in 1864 in Berea, Ohio, by nine individuals who sought to help orphaned children during the Civil War, and has since grown from a small orphanage into a comprehensive behavioural health provider with more than 160 years of continuous operation.
The agency's work spans a full continuum of care. Clinical services include outpatient mental health and substance use programmes, medication-assisted treatment, psychiatric care, and mobile crisis response for individuals in behavioural health crisis. Its wider offering covers youth and early childhood mental health, family support, foster care, and a complete range of prevention services. Workforce 360°, a job training and workforce development programme, extends the agency's remit beyond treatment.
OhioGuidestone describes its approach as person-centred and responsive, with a mission focused on helping individuals reset their paths, reclaim their autonomy and restore their purpose. Its industry footprint covers community behavioural health, mental health and substance use treatment, child welfare and foster care, workforce development, and crisis services.
