Preferred Behavioral Health Group

Preferred Behavioral Health Group is a nonprofit behavioral healthcare organization founded in 1978 that provides mental health and substance use disorder services to individuals, families and communities across central New Jersey. The organisation serves more than 27,000 people a year through multiple locations in Ocean County, including Lakewood, Toms River, Brick and Barnegat, with a presence extending into Monmouth County.

Its work spans a continuum of care for children, teens, adults and seniors. Outpatient services treat adults with mental health and substance use challenges, while residential programmes provide care for adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Prevention efforts target substance abuse among young people. The clinical approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and a recovery philosophy promoting the mental wellness of all persons.

Operating for over four decades, the organisation is mission-driven, with an emphasis on quality and compassionate care across all age groups.
