IAIP is the global standards body for Islamic Psychology, developing professional standards, certification, ethical frameworks, learning resources and community initiatives for practitioners and educators worldwide.
The International Association of Islamic Psychology (IAIP) is the global standards body for Islamic Psychology, a discipline also known as Ilm al-Nafs. It develops and upholds professional standards, certification and ethical frameworks for practitioners of psychology rooted in Islamic traditions. Its remit spans mental health, ethics in psychology, evidence-based psychological research and holistic, spiritually-integrated approaches to mental health care.
IAIP's work falls into three areas. Certification programs provide professional recognition for practitioners of Islamic Psychology. Learning resources offer educational materials and pathways for learners, practitioners and educators. Community initiatives connect these groups internationally and build a network intended to grow the field sustainably.
The association serves practitioners, educators and researchers worldwide, working across the mental health, psychology, professional education and certification, and faith-based healthcare sectors. Its stated priorities include integrity and ethical practice, protecting the meaning, ethics and faith roots of the discipline, preventing its misuse or misrepresentation, and an evidence-based approach to building the field.
