Child Mind Institute
Independent national nonprofit providing evidence-based clinical care, free family education and neuroscience research for children with mental health and learning disorders.
The Child Mind Institute is an independent national nonprofit working on children's mental health and learning disorders through three connected areas: Care, Education, Science. Its Clinical Care Centers deliver evidence-based treatment for children with mental health and learning disorders, in person and via telehealth, and serve thousands of children each year. Clinician partnerships extend across five continents, alongside facilities in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Its Education work centres on the Family Resource Center, a free online library for families covering ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, behaviour problems, screen time and issues affecting tweens and teens. The resources reach millions of families annually and are offered at no cost.
On the research side, the Healthy Brain Network is a neuroscience initiative that enrolls children for diagnostic evaluations at no charge; more than 8,500 children have taken part. Technical work spans neuroscience research, clinical mental health treatment, evidence-based care delivery, telehealth services and learning-disorder diagnostics.
The institute accepts no pharmaceutical funding, a condition it says keeps its work independent and focused on children's wellbeing. The organisation describes itself as mission-driven, with an emphasis on gold-standard, evidence-based care and on making family resources free and accessible.
