Government Employees Health Association, Inc.

Nonprofit health and dental benefit provider serving federal employees, retirees and military retirees nationwide, offering FEHB, PSHB, FEDVIP and Medicare Advantage plans from Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (GEHA) is a nonprofit health and dental benefit provider that serves federal employees, retirees, military retirees and their families. Founded in 1937 by postal employees as a mutual aid society, the association is headquartered in Lee's Summit, Missouri, and operates nationwide, covering more than 2 million lives through a provider network spanning millions of healthcare providers across the United States. It employs approximately 1,600 people.

GEHA's product line includes FEHB Plans (Federal Employees Health Benefits), PSHB Plans (Postal Service Health Benefits), FEDVIP Dental Plans - which carry no in-network deductibles or waiting periods - and Medicare Advantage Plans. Technical work centres on health benefits administration and telehealth services, with members also offered wellness reward programmes paying between $500 and $1,000 annually.

As a nonprofit, member-built association, GEHA reinvests profits into benefits and services rather than distributing them to shareholders. Its G.E.H.A Gives programme supports community initiatives, including partnerships with Carry the Load, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Folds of Honor for the veteran and military community, and a Learn to Swim Program that has reached more than 5,000 students.
