Retirement Housing Foundation

National non-profit providing affordable housing and service coordination for older adults, low-income families and persons with disabilities across 198 communities in 29 states.

Retirement Housing Foundation is a national non-profit organisation that provides affordable housing and service coordination for people with limited incomes, including older adults, low-income families and persons with disabilities. Founded in 1961 by two United Church of Christ clergy and a layman, the foundation has grown to operate 198 communities serving more than 19,000 residents across 29 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The organisation builds and preserves affordable housing communities and pairs them with service coordination in an inclusive environment. Its stated aim is to enhance quality of life physically, mentally and spiritually, and to provide quality housing for vulnerable populations. Industry areas covered include affordable housing, senior and retirement housing, and social services.

As a mission-driven non-profit with a national footprint, Retirement Housing Foundation works in a sector shaped by public funding, regulatory requirements and long-term resident care. Roles in such organisations typically span property and community management, resident services, service coordination and administrative functions across a distributed portfolio of sites.
