Common Ground is a non-profit agency providing free, confidential 24/7 crisis support by phone, text, chat and in person, including 988 Lifeline and mobile crisis services in Michigan.

Common Ground is a non-profit agency that provides free and confidential crisis support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to individuals and families experiencing mental health and emotional crises. Services are offered regardless of income or insurance status. The agency has operated for more than 50 years and supported more than 200,000 people in crisis in the past year, and is described as one of the most comprehensive crisis service agencies in the United States.

Its work spans several service lines. The 24-Hour Crisis Hub provides round-the-clock crisis intervention and emotional support. Common Ground operates the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for the state of Michigan, alongside Mobile Crisis Intervention Teams that meet people in person wherever they are. The agency also runs a Virtual Behavioral Health Urgent Care, victim assistance programmes and resiliency centres.

Delivery channels include in-person contact, phone, text, chat and virtual care, reflecting a range of operational domains: crisis intervention, behavioural health, telehealth, call and contact centre operations, mobile crisis response, and trauma support for victims. The stated mission is to help people move from crisis to hope. The organisation is based in Michigan and is nationally recognised.
