Youth Crisis Center

Nonprofit offering crisis care, mental health counseling, group skills training, and transitional living services to traumatized youth and families across Northeast Florida.

Youth Crisis Center (YCC) is a nonprofit provider of crisis care, mental health counseling, skills-based group training, and transitional living services for children, teens, young adults, and their families affected by trauma. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, the organisation serves Northeast Florida, including Duval, Baker, Nassau, Clay, and St. Johns counties.

Its services fall into four areas: short-term crisis care for youth and families exposed to traumatic situations such as divorce, homelessness, relocation, loss of life, bullying, and abuse; mental health counseling for children, teens, young adults, and their families; skills-based group training for youth and families; and transitional living services for youth and young adults.

Founded in 1974 as Florida's first runaway program, YCC is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation and was ranked one of the top five programs in the United States by the Youth Policy Institute in Washington DC. It has received two Presidential Commendations for Excellence, numerous state honours, and was named 2016 Agency of the Year by the FL Network of Youth and Family Services. Its work has been featured on 60 Minutes, Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt, The New York Times, USA Today, and Reader's Digest.
