Volunteers of America Minnesota and Wisconsin is a nonprofit health and human services organisation founded in 1896. Part of the national Volunteers of America network, it operates across Minnesota and Wisconsin, where it delivers more than 70 programmes in 110 communities and serves upwards of 22,000 people a year. Its stated aim is to build resilience and well-being, helping people attain self-reliance, dignity and hope.

The organisation concentrates its work in four service areas. Children, Youth & Families provides physical, emotional, behavioural and academic support to children, young people and their families. Older Adults offers services, resources and innovations intended to sustain independence, connection and well-being in later life. People with Disabilities receives person-centred support, while Community Reentry assists those returning to society after incarceration.

The organisation describes itself as mission-driven, employing a strengths-based approach that builds on individual and collective capabilities. It is committed to ensuring that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
