Upwardly Global is a national nonprofit that places skilled immigrants, refugees and asylees in U.S. career jobs through coaching, employer partnerships and workforce development programs.
Upwardly Global is a national nonprofit that dismantles employment barriers for work-authorized skilled immigrants, refugees, and asylees, connecting them with career-aligned jobs in the U.S. economy. The organisation works across three programs: UpGlo Direct, which provides free expert coaching and job readiness training to immigrant jobseekers; UpGlo Talent, which helps employers find and hire qualified international candidates; and UpGlo Connect, which builds the capacity of organisations serving newcomer communities. It has been operating for more than 25 years and works on a national, largely remote basis, with a presence in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and the Washington, D.C. area.
The organisation reports having placed more than 35,000 jobseekers in thriving-wage positions, contributing over $1.9bn annually to the U.S. economy. Its technical work spans data-driven program measurement and analytics, workforce development and job readiness training, career coaching and employment services, and employer partnership and talent matching.
Upwardly Global describes itself as remote-first, operating across the country, with an inclusive and collaborative culture in which every voice matters. It positions itself as a data-driven and innovative nonprofit, driven by the principle that talent knows no borders, with an emphasis on diversity and immigrant inclusion. Its work sits at the intersection of workforce development, immigration and refugee services, employment services and employer recruiting.
