Together for Girls is a global public-private partnership founded in 2009 to end violence against children and adolescents, with a particular focus on sexual violence against girls. It works by combining data, advocacy and action, bringing together governments, civil society, UN entities, development partners and the private sector. The organisation is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and operates globally across the fields of public health, child and adolescent protection, violence prevention, international development, and gender equality and girls' rights.

Data sit at the centre of its work. Together for Girls convenes the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS), which now span 19 years and constitute the largest source of data on violence affecting young people globally. The organisation's technical work covers survey data collection and analysis, evidence generation and dissemination, global benchmarking and indexing, and advocacy and stakeholder mobilisation. More than 20 national governments have been convened through this effort.

Three programmes translate this evidence into practice. Safe Futures Hub shares evidence-based solutions for violence prevention, healing and justice for children and adolescents. The Brave Movement is a survivor-led global advocacy movement addressing sexual violence against children and adolescents. The Out of the Shadows Index is a global benchmark tracking country-level efforts to prevent and respond to such violence.

The partnership model is its defining operating characteristic: rather than delivering services directly, it unites public and private institutions around shared data and advocacy, with a stated focus on scaling effective solutions.
