Street Business School
Street Business School delivers entrepreneurship training and coaching for women in extreme poverty, scaled through train-the-trainer partnerships with over 300 organisations in more than 30 countries.
Street Business School provides livelihood entrepreneurship training for women living in extreme poverty. Its curriculum teaches the tools needed to start and grow microbusinesses, combining business skills with confidence-building and ongoing coaching support. The organisation's stated approach is to equip participants with knowledge and inspiration to create their own path to prosperity rather than one-time aid.
Delivery runs largely through partners. Train-the-trainer workshops prepare local organisations to run the programme themselves, and the model has been extended to more than 300 partner organisations across over 30 countries. Street Business School also builds customised partnerships with larger international organisations, with an emphasis on cultural relevance and local knowledge.
The organisation has its roots in Uganda and works across the international development, poverty alleviation, women's economic empowerment, microenterprise and vocational training fields. Its focus areas include mission-driven work on lifting women and their families out of poverty, a belief that self-confidence drives lasting change, and a partnership-based, scalable delivery model that values continued coaching over one-time assistance.
