A 501(c)(3) nonprofit delivering after-school STEM, arts, mentoring and leadership programmes to girls aged 8-18 at school sites across Greater Miami.
Girls Inc. of Greater Miami is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2017 that delivers comprehensive after-school programming for girls and young women across Greater Miami. An affiliate of the Girls Inc. national network - the longest-running girls' leadership programme - it operates in all-girl spaces at school sites in four community areas: Richmond Heights, Allapattah, Opa-Locka and Hialeah.
Its programmes, delivered as part of The Girls Inc. Experience, combine academic support with STEM education, arts education, mentoring, leadership development and life skills. The organisation serves hundreds of girls each year between the ages of 8 and 18. Staff work is mission-driven and community-based, oriented toward building confidence and leadership in the young people served.
Girls Inc. of Greater Miami reports that 87 cents of every dollar it spends goes directly to supporting girls' development. The organisation describes itself as a community cornerstone committed to local impact and to empowering girls to be strong, smart and bold.
