For Our Future Action Fund is a progressive political action committee founded in 2016. It operates what it describes as the largest permanent progressive field programme in key swing states, using face-to-face conversations with voters and sustained community organising to build progressive power. The organisation is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Its work is organised around three programmes. The permanent field programme runs in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, with additional activities in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Nevada. A voter engagement and electorate-expansion programme co-ordinates with national campaigns, labour unions and community-based partners to widen participation among working people. An issue-advocacy and community-organising programme campaigns on shared economic prosperity, stronger public education, social and racial justice, and environmental protection.
The organisation was founded through a partnership between environmentalist Tom Steyer, the AFL-CIO and major public employee unions, and it continues to work collaboratively with campaigns, unions and community partners. Its stated emphasis is on long-term relationships with communities and on amplifying local voices within the democratic process.
