Working Families Party

A progressive political party, founded in 1998, that organises a multiracial movement of working people and elects candidates through state chapters across the United States.

The Working Families Party (WFP) is a progressive political party founded in 1998. It organises a multiracial movement of working people outside the two-party system, recruiting, training and electing candidates at every level of the ballot. The party runs candidates through Democratic primaries and on its own ballot line.

The organisation's work spans politics and elections, labour and workers' rights, criminal justice reform, campaign finance reform and legislative advocacy. Its stated priorities are workers over bosses and people over the powerful, pursued through grassroots organising and the advancement of dignity, compassion and justice.

WFP operates across the United States through dozens of state chapters, working state by state. Over more than two decades in operation it has mobilised hundreds of thousands of members. Further detail on the party, its campaigns and its chapters is available at https://workingfamilies.org/.
