Center for Action and Contemplation

The Center for Action and Contemplation is an educational nonprofit founded in 1987 and based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a global reach. It introduces spiritual seekers to the contemplative Christian path of transformation through programs, resources, and practices intended to inspire compassionate action. The organisation reaches a global email community of seekers and draws on centuries of Christian contemplative traditions, presented in accessible, practical forms.

Its programmes include The Living School, an immersive wisdom path for spiritual seekers established in 2013; Essentials of Engaged Contemplation, a course offering deep immersion in Christian contemplative traditions; and a range of online education, events, podcasts, and Daily Meditations content. The CAC Bookstore offers contemplative and spiritual resources.

The organisation describes itself as rooted in the values of humility, truthfulness, simplicity, and solidarity. Its stated vision is “Transformed people working together for a more just and connected world”, with a focus on personal transformation and compassionate action in the world.
