AIPAC

AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) is a bipartisan American political organization that works to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Israel. Its principal activity is lobbying Congress, alongside support for pro-Israel candidates from both major parties. The organization operates in the United States and is based in Washington, D.C.

AIPAC states a membership of 6.5 million Americans and describes itself as representing the views of US citizens who support the US-Israel alliance. The organization emphasizes that it is neither directed nor funded by the Israeli government, and that its agenda includes protecting American troops and homeland security as well as supporting Israel.

Two political committees carry much of the group's electoral work. AIPAC PAC is a political action committee through which members contribute directly to Democratic and Republican candidates; it is described as the largest pro-Israel political action committee in the United States. United Democracy Project, a super PAC affiliated with AIPAC, conducts research on congressional candidates.

The organisation's work sits in political advocacy, government relations and lobbying, and electoral politics and campaign finance. AIPAC is explicitly bipartisan in its approach, working with both Democrats and Republicans.
