Water for Good is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit founded in 2004 that works to end water poverty in vulnerable communities through water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programmes. Its stated mission is a future in which no one dies from a preventable WASH-related disease. The organisation holds that every person has inherent dignity and serves people regardless of race, religion, gender or background.
The organisation runs two main programme areas: community-based sustainable safe water access, including drilling and maintenance of water systems, and improved sanitation and hygiene, including hygiene education and sanitation infrastructure intended to reduce preventable WASH-related disease. Sustainability of water access programmes is a stated commitment of the work.
Water for Good operates in five countries: Cambodia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, the Central African Republic and Uganda. In 2024 it merged with Lifewater International, combining 47 years of experience while retaining the Water for Good name. The organisation works across the nonprofit and international development, global health, and humanitarian aid sectors.
