UHIN, the Utah Health Information Network, is a nonprofit health information technology organisation that supplies affordable interoperability technology to providers, payers and patients. Its work spans healthcare data interoperability, health information exchange, electronic data interchange (EDI), clearinghouse technology and claims management. The organisation has served the healthcare industry for more than 30 years and is recognised as one of the nation's leaders in standardised information exchange. It operates across the United States. Its product portfolio includes the National EDI Network, a standardised channel for healthcare information exchange; Clearinghouse Solutions for secure processing of healthcare transactions; and CHIE (Clinical Health Information Exchange), which aggregates, transforms and exchanges large volumes of healthcare data to support decision-making by major healthcare organisations. Further offerings cover claims management, eligibility checking, secure data exchange, nationwide connectivity, patient alerts, and ADT (admission, discharge, transfer) and laboratory notifications. UHIN describes its mission as breaking down barriers and inefficiencies in healthcare, with a particular emphasis on the affordability of healthcare technology.
