The LJD Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) is a social and community services agency serving Northeast Florida. Founded in 1917, it has provided continuous service for over a century to children, adults, seniors, and families across the life spectrum. The agency serves all community members regardless of background and operates under the mission "Helping People Help Themselves".
JFCS runs a range of programmes, including direct client services, emergency assistance, adoption assistance for birth mothers and families, child safety and prevention support, senior services, and dropout prevention for middle school students. It also provides education and outreach programming, the Jewish Healing Network, and Holocaust education through the Frisch Family Holocaust Memorial Gallery.
Counselling is delivered by a team of clinical social workers, mental health counsellors, and marriage and family therapists with more than 50 years of combined experience. The agency's work is guided by Jewish values of compassion, justice, and Tikkun Olam - repairing the world - which are applied across its diverse range of programmes.
