Center for Family and Child Enrichment

A Miami-Dade nonprofit, founded in 1977, providing counselling, foster care and family support, and FQHC healthcare services to vulnerable children and families.

The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is a private, nonprofit, community-based organisation founded in 1977. Based in Miami-Dade County, Florida, it works with vulnerable children and families, including those affected by abuse, neglect and abandonment, as well as families in crisis. Its stated mission is to cherish children and build stronger communities. The organisation serves more than 5,000 children and families each year and has operated for nearly five decades.

CFCE's services fall into three areas. Counseling & Therapy covers in-home family counselling, behavioural health services and training programmes for children and parents. Family & Community Support Programs comprise residential group care, foster care and adoption services, youth intervention, and legal assistance for families in court procedures; the organisation contracts with lead agencies to deliver community-based care. Its Quality Healthcare arm is the Pediatric & Family Health and Wellness Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center opened in 2012 that provides general and sick care for adults and children, OB/GYN, dental services, nutrition programmes, and mental health and substance abuse treatment.

Work at CFCE sits at the intersection of several fields: child welfare, foster care and adoption, behavioural health, community healthcare and family services. All of the organisation's activity is concentrated in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
