Operation PAR

Publicly funded Florida non-profit providing substance abuse and mental health treatment, including residential care, medical detox, MAT and outpatient services.

Operation PAR (Parental Awareness and Recovery) is a publicly funded non-profit and one of Florida's largest providers of substance abuse and mental health services. Founded in 1970 in Pinellas County by Shirley Coletti, the organisation works with families and individuals affected by substance use disorders and has been in operation for more than 50 years.

The organisation delivers a continuum of care spanning residential treatment, medically supervised detoxification, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders including opioid dependency, outpatient substance abuse and mental health services, and prevention programmes. Two programmes are distinctive: PAR Village, a gender-specific residential programme in which women can live with their children during treatment, and a dedicated programme for pregnant women struggling with opioid dependency.

Operation PAR serves more than 13,000 clients annually across multiple locations in west Florida and several Florida counties, with an affiliation to the Central Florida Behavioral Healthcare Network, which has recognised it as a 5-Star Service Organisation. It is CARF accredited and states a commitment to evidence-based practices, quality care and a family-centred approach that extends to vulnerable populations.

Roles are based in Florida, with services concentrated in west Florida and Pinellas County, the founding location.
