Heart to Heart International

Heart to Heart International is a global humanitarian nonprofit that works to improve healthcare access in under-resourced communities. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas, the organisation operates in more than 131 countries and reports having delivered over $3 billion worth of health and humanitarian support since its inception.

Its programmes span five areas: Access to Medicine, which supplies essential medications; Community Health, which strengthens local health systems and health education; Disaster Response, which provides medical aid after earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and disease outbreaks; Hygiene Kits, which distribute essential supplies during crises; and Laboratory Services, which equips clinics with technology and training for on-site testing. Technical work centres on medical laboratory services, diagnostic testing technology, clinic equipment and training, and health education.

The organisation is heavily volunteer-driven, with more than 1.1 million volunteer hours contributed. Its stated commitments include global health equity and a focus on communities in need and under-resourced settings.
