North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) is a private, non-profit agency contracted with the State of California's Department of Developmental Services to provide support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1974, it is one of the largest of California's regional centres and has served the North Los Angeles County community for five decades. It works across the lifespan, from infants to ageing adults.
Its services span the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley. They include the Early Start programme for infants and toddlers with developmental needs; eligibility assessment to determine access to developmental disability services; and service coordination for individuals across the lifespan. The agency also provides behavioural services, supported living services, employment assistance and affordable housing support.
NLACRC is governed by a Board of Trustees and operates through public meetings and a range of advisory committees, reflecting stated commitments to transparency, accountability and community involvement. Further detail on the agency and its programmes is published at nlacrc.org.
