Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Nonprofit sea turtle rehabilitation, research and ocean conservation centre in Juno Beach, Florida, with veterinary facilities, STEM education programmes and global partnerships.
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a nonprofit scientific destination in Juno Beach, Florida, dedicated to the rehabilitation, research and protection of sea turtles and to ocean ecosystem conservation. Founded in 1983, it began as a personal mission of Eleanor Fletcher, a long-time Juno Beach resident. The organisation operates a 27,500-square-foot campus with state-of-the-art medical facilities for rehabilitating threatened and endangered sea turtles, along with expansive exhibition space.
Its work spans several technical domains: marine biology research, sea turtle rehabilitation, conservation science, veterinary care for marine life and STEM education programming. The centre runs transformational STEM education programmes and community outreach, reaching hundreds of thousands of guests a year. Admission to the campus is free, a policy that reflects an emphasis on public accessibility and education.
Beyond its Florida base, Loggerhead Marinelife Center engages in collaborative conservation work with nearly 200 partner organisations across 16 countries and six continents. It operates in the nonprofit, conservation, marine science, tourism and education sectors, with a culture rooted in the protection of threatened and endangered species.
