Fraternal Order of Eagles

International fraternal organization founded in 1898, with nearly 700,000 members and 1,300+ locations, focused on community service and charitable giving.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international fraternal organization founded on February 6th 1898 in Seattle, Washington, by six theater owners gathered to address a musician's strike. Guided by the principle of "People Helping People", the organisation is dedicated to community service and charitable giving, with a mission to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.

The Order reports nearly 700,000 members across the United States and Canada and operates from over 1,300 locations worldwide. It runs on a volunteer-driven fraternal membership model, with members uniting in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice and equality. Its activities span nonprofit and fraternal work, philanthropy, community service and social services including patient care and prevention.

Two central programmes carry the Order's charitable work. The FOE Charity Foundation awards grants to local and international organisations to support patient care, prevention and a range of community initiatives. Alongside it, social events and community programmes run by members raise money for charity at the local level.
