Basis Research Institute

Basis Research Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit applied research organisation working on artificial intelligence. Its stated aim is to understand and build intelligence: establishing mathematical principles of reasoning, learning, decision-making, understanding and explaining, and constructing software that implements them. The institute frames this as two mutually reinforcing goals - building intelligence and advancing society's ability to solve intractable problems.
